Ben Booker

Ben is touring the world as monitor engineer with the Scissor Sisters. The Scissor Sisters have become increasingly popular over the last few years, earning three Brit Awards in 2005, and a Grammy Nomination for their dance version of Pink Floyd's Comfortably Numb. With appearances on late night television shows and an intense touring schedule, the Scissor Sisters are keeping Ben and his associates busy.

Ben works alongside Adlib Audio's Dave Kay on FOH duties. Adlib Audio is a full service production company located in Liverpool, offering sound, lighting, staging, and power systems. Adlib's clients include The Coral, David Bowie, Gomez, Texas, Del Amitri, and Fun Lovin' Criminals.

"I started out sweeping the floor and making tea at Adlib Audio in 1995, where I still work as a full time engineer," says Ben. "I've worked with monitor systems, FOH, and specialty systems for many groups, including Hot Hot Heat, Atomic Kitten, Texas, Lamb, and Groove Armada."

Booker is a long time supporter of Rane's audio quality. He uses Rane's G4 Quad Gate / Expanders and C4 Quad Compressor / Limiters exclusively in his monitor system.

"The reasons I love the Rane C4 and G4 processors? It's simple: they work well, repeatably, and reliably. The G4's gate can manage a kick drum without adding the artifical crack that you find with other company's gates. And the C4's compressor modifies audio levels without ugly side effects. The sound is always clean and controlled.”
