Pete Healey

Pete Healey is currently on tour with Alter Bridge and Another Animal.

Pete Healey recently finished a US tour with both Alter Bridge (Creed minus their original singer) and Another Animal (a regenerated Godsmack). Next up, the tour will head to Europe.

Pete was introduced to Rane while working with his mentor, Sully, on tour with country artist Joe Nichols.

Healey writes: "I never thought I’d have Rane in my racks, but now I can’t picture using anything else. I started out using their C4 Compressor/Limiter and liked it so much that I had to try out their G4 Quad Gate."

After the Nichols tour, Pete landed a gig as tour manager and FOH engineer for rising stars Mute Math, an eclectic band from New Orleans. (The band's groundbreaking backwards music video performance of Typical is one of the most-viewed videos on YouTube.)

Mute Math's live show provides an exciting challenge to any sound engineer, with homemade instruments, live sampling, a junked-out keytar, and the kind of random events that make their performances memorable. They tapped Pete to run their FOH system for a tour that covered 40 cities in the U.S. and Canada.

Healey's signature processing racks - used on tours with Kelly Clarkson, Mute Math, Luke Bryan, and the Lost Trailers - includes a TC D2 Delay, TC M1 Reverb, TC M2000 Multi-Effects Processor, as well as multiple Rane C4 Compressors and Rane G4 Quad Gates.

He's also a big fan of the Rane MM 42 Personal Monitor Processor, having used it extensively on both the Alter Bridge and Joe Nichols tours.

"Alter Bridge and Mute Math are both bass heavy shows. When I clamp down hard on the low end using the Rane C4 Compressor, the sound remains full and round. And the transparency of the Rane G4 Quad Gate is outstanding. Both units give me total confidence that I can get the sound I need when I’m faced with mixing shows in acoustically hostile environments."
