Equinox Fitness Clubs, New York City’s premier chain of fitness centers, needed an A/V system that measured up to the ambitious design of their new flagship Columbus Circle location. The challenge of providing the perfect audio and video backdrop for the new 42,000 sq. ft. Columbus Circle Equinox, inside the newly reconstructed Time Warner Center, was met by Essential Communications. The company specified CD players, speakers, wireless mics, music programming delivery systems, and plasma screens that they knew could withstand the stress created in a fitness club environment. The crystal clear, multiple-zone, smartly-programmed audio and video system utilizes two Rane PM 88 Programmable Multiprocessors and a pair of Rane SR 3 Smart Remotes. It’s all a perfect example of the direction that A/V in this industry is heading in. “When I first started creating A/V systems for health clubs 15 years ago, they were basically using home stereos everywhere,” Schwartz comments. “Now you have high end centers like Equinox using only professional products, and that’s part of the statement of Essential Communications: Working with companies that are committed to a better experience for their customers." |
