New Life's Worship Center sound system has seen expanding use as an audio production facility over the past few years. Audio director Steve Dooley recently purchased four new
Rane DEQ 60 Graphic Equalizers for an improved monitor system, after a brief demo the month before.
With 18 years of pro audio experience, Steve is uniquely qualified to specify and build an industry-leading sound system in any facility. “At this point in my life, I think I've run nearly every piece of equipment ever made, mixing audio in every conceivable situation,” states Steve. “As our needs increased, we realized we had to upgrade the monitor system. The
Rane DEQ 60 holds its own against any of the other units we looked at. The clarity and sound quality improvements are tremendous."
Dooley particularly appreciates the DEQ 60's ability to switch between Proportional Q and Perfect Q modes, allowing precise adjustments for diverse applications.
The New Life Center has four independent sound systems in four different rooms. Each room uses Rane signal processing. The Worship Center uses the four
DEQ 60 equalizers. The Chapel uses two ME 15B equalizers, and two Youth Rooms use
RPM 26z Programmable Multiprocessors for loudspeaker processing.
Impressed with Rane's audio quality and customer service, Dooley plans to add
G4 Quad Gate/Expanders and
C4 Quad Compressor/Limiters to the main Worship Center sound system in the coming months.
