Zee Bar
After a successful inaugural year, Philly's Zee Bar upgraded their 4-room audio and music system using Rane equipment.
Zee Bar is located near the historic Delaware River waterfront in Philadelphia's Old City neighborhood. After a wildly successful first year of operation, club owners contracted with Bryn Mawr-based Planet Medley to upgrade their sound system. Planet Medley is Medley Music's installation division, headed by Kyle Rosenbloom, CTS.
With its four dance rooms, posh decor, and lounge vibe, Zee Bar provides high class entertainment in a members-only format. Philly's best disc jockeys spin Hip Hop, House and more, all from an integrated control surface driven by two Rane TTM 57SL Mixers.
Planet Medley's unique design allows Zee Bar's two independent Dj booths to be controlled by one or two Djs, using the TTM 57SL's Auxiliary Inputs and Outputs. Music from both booths can be routed throughout the entire club.
Dj Adam Bomb and Dj Excel of the Philly-based Skratch Mekaniks crew are two of the resident Djs at Zee Bar, and Rosenbloom credits them with the idea to integrate the TTM 57SL into the two booths. "These guys have been using Rane forever," says Rosenbloom. "I've sold them several TTM 56 mixers, Scratch Live SL 1s, and now a pair of TTM 57SLs."
Adam Bomb adds: "I loved the fader on the TTM 56, but the TTM 57SL's magnetic faders feel even better." Referring to the new Planet Medley sound system, Adam continues: "Now I can really tear it up, because I can hear myself!"
Kyle Rosenbloom has also installed Rane Dj mixers in other hot clubs in Philadelphia, including Serato and Club Damani.
