Rane Introduces the DR6 Customizable Touch Screen Remote for HAL

Rane’s new DR6, a fully customizable touch screen remote for the HAL family of audio DSPs, supports multiple pages or tabs, and any set of levels, toggles, selectors and/or commands. Drag and drop and resize controls any way desired. Use custom background images and logos in full-color on the 7-inch LCD display. Screw the included wall-mount bracket over US or international electrical boxes, or flush mount the ¾–inch thick DR6 with only a 2-inch hole in the wall to accommodate the cable. An included midspan power injector between any HAL and the DR6 delivers communications and power through a single shielded CAT 5e (or better) cable. Optional, on-screen User Access logins secure management pages from public or staff use, and a programmable ambient light sensor automatically dims the backlight.

The DR6 requires Halogen version 5, available late 2014.

Rane’s HAL3 Multiprocessor Evolves into the new HAL3s

The new HAL3s Multiprocessor upgrade features 10 dB better dynamic range, and adds Rane’s Mic/Line/Line-Plus input stages that support a dynamic mic, condenser mic, balanced Line input, or automatically monoed stereo unbalanced inputs. Another RAD port is added, making the HAL3s a six input, ten output, 100% drag and drop device. With Halogen 4.1’s fully customizable HTML Web Controls for iPad or smart phone control, the HAL3s widens your applications solutions when more sources, zones and/or I/O matrices are needed in house of worship, retail, zoned, paging, corporate AV and background music systems. And with no price change, the HAL3s is another of the 20 reasons why Rane’s four HAL DSP devices will help you open more POD Bay doors, …Dave.

Rane drops in the Dante™ pool with the EXP2x Expander for the HAL1xDante

Rane Corporation and Audinate introduce the Rane EXP2x Dante Expander for Rane’s HAL1x at InfoComm in Las Vegas. Use the EXP2x to interface a HAL1x System with a Dante network. Applications abound in houses of worship, installed sound, performing arts venues, education and corporate environments. The EXP2x allows connecting a Dante network between facilities or multiple independent HAL1x systems.

The EXP2x is the latest addition to the HAL System family and supports 32 receive and 32 transmit channels. Built-in sample rate converters support 48 kHz or 96 kHz sample rates on the Dante network. Daisychain up to sixteen EXP2x devices to a single HAL1x to max-out at 512 x 512 channels on both the Dante network (on a single cable) and the HAL1x’s Expansion Bus.

The EXP2x is equipped with a Secondary Dante port for either Redundant Mode or Switch Mode. Use Dante Controller software for all network audio and EXP2x Brooklyn II card management. Use Rane’s Halogen software to configure the HAL System’s customizable HTML Web Controls, 3rd-party- & knob-based DR remotes, HAL presets, and vast DSP such as drag and drop acoustic echo cancelling, ambient noise compensation, mixing, ducking, routing and filters galore.

Front panel and Halogen software indicators for Dante connection, network status, flow active, and audio signal present aid troubleshooting. Dante Controller provides all network setup, monitoring, control, diagnostics and troubleshooting beyond compare; while Halogen reads, but does not edit the Dante setup, simplifying which software to use and eliminating conflict.

Dante provides a no-hassle, self-configuring with ultra low latence, while providing a true plug-and-play digital audio network using standard Internet Protocols on existing infrastructure — without requiring a dedicated network. The technology is built on global networking standards, making signal distribution more flexible, cost-effective and user-friendly and has been used at some of the largest live events and sophisticated installations worldwide.

The EXP2x requires Halogen version 5, available late 2014.

Rane Ships the New HAL System AEC, Web Controls and the HAL4

HAL System additions available now:

EXP7x is an eight-channel, drag-and-drop, acoustic echo canceller (AEC) that sets new ease-of-use and functionality, making it impossible to improperly route AEC reference signals. Proprietary Distributed Far End bus provides flexible far end I/O routing and selection, plus processing blocks automatically mirror the routed reference signal.

Free Web Control available in Halogen Version 4 works on any device with a browser, creating an HTML web page, with password protection to keep settings safe.

HAL4 is a two-channel DSP to satisfy the simplest of budget-conscious installations. Targeting two-channel analog I/O applications that need a powerful configurable DSP, choose between EQ, AGC, compression, limiting, subwoofer filtering, ambient noise compensation, noise masking, and remote level or preset control—even from an iPad using Web Control.

All of these products are shipping now, and Halogen is free to download here.
